Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will likely center his presidential campaign on Russia’s alleged domestic stability and increased criticism of the West instead of focusing on the war, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in its latest report.

    I’m not sure the voting results of the Russian people will have any impact on the results of the election so I’m curious why Putin cares. Maybe it’s an indicator for societal stability?

      I mean if too many people vote against him it’s still gonna be an issue. If no one knows anyone who voted for him in personal circles people start talking and might start to feel powerful enough for revolution

      My take: he can control oligarchs because they think the war will bring wealth to them. If a poll indicates that people won’t be reserve canon fodders, however…
