correct me if i’m wrong, but should the system really take up that much space? and is there any way for me to debloat it or cut it down in some way? thank you all for the help, my phone is a Galaxy A10e

It’s not only bloat. From what I remember I think it’s also swap space, probably also some space for caching and some other things. E.g. I have 42GB of system space out of 256 on my Galaxy S21, and it’s definitely not all bloat apps.

There’s also two copies of the system partition so you can reboot into an upgrade (or revert back from one). So that’s half the space.

Wait till Google sends you 500 MB+ updates for YouTube etc. The updates will occupy remaining free space and you will soon be out of another 10+ GB omce most programs update.

My system usage is 18gb. I luckily have a 128gb pixel so it’s not a huge concern, but that is kinda ridiculous for a Linux distro imho

That’s classic Samsung filling it with bloat. However I’m on a Xioami phone atm and its even worse at 11.5 gb atm…

the constant struggle just to use an android :( sucks because i bought mine to double as a media player, but due to the sheer bloat that the system takes up, i hardly have any space left

Yeah it’s not exactly true advertising the storage they are. They really should be subtracting the space needed for the system and advertise that as the “true” storage or whatever…
