    For the users, !..

    For the software c/…

    When you want to link to a community in a post via the webinterface, once you start typing the !.. notation it offers suggestions and when you select one, it’ll insert the display name !.. and set the url to the c/… format.

    Searching for a community accepts both notations, you can even subscribe to kbin magazines via their m/… notations ( complete url )

    or
    /c/community@instance.tld

    Both are valid methods and Lemmy will convert it to instance aware clickable links automatically (since v0.18) .

      Neat, I didn’t know that the /c notation would work. Let’s give this a try: /c/[email protected]

      Interestingly, it tries to auto-complete a username, likely due to the @

      This still works better for me as it auto-completes the community name: [email protected]

    I like c/community more because the “c” indicates it’s a community. Just like u/user indicates it’s a user.
