She is getting paid a minimum of 6 million per year.

She will agree with EM till hell freezes over to keep that gravy train rolling down the tracks.

    Not crazy just venal.

Venal: (adjective) Open to bribery; mercenary. Obtainable for a price.

This was an internal memo, not one for the public to see. She could easily have reassured the staff that Musk’s words wouldn’t hurt the company, but instead she praised him for what he said. She used to be a Trump appointee. She loves Elon and his crazy ideas.

Just because it is internal does not mean she will drop the cheerleading facade. I have worked in large corps and this is totally on brand for the bullshit that gets passed around as staff motivation/ justification for batshit management decisions.

Quite simply we will never know if she actually believes this shit as we are not part of the in group.

I read the article and I think the argument is fine. They play up not knowing why she’s supporting Musk, but six million dollars is six million dollars.

So you think she was being paid peanuts at NBCUniversal and left to join a sinking ship in the hopes of making more money? That doesn’t seem especially rational of someone. But it makes a lot more sense if instead, they worship Musk and think he’s changing the world.

Yes but this internal memo was “leaked” - I have a hunch she leaked it herself, possibly to ensure that she remains in Musk’s good graces. Or to show future employers how loyal she can be and how readily/deftly she can spin. I.e., it’s an advertisement for herself.

Musk is playing fast and loose with their future, saying things that by his own admission may result in the death of the company.

If I was a working person, supporting a family, working at that time bomb would not be a wise choice.

That’s fairly low for software engineers in California. Companies like Google and Facebook pay 2-4x plus (I’d imagine Twitter does too, and that’s just a straight average for all employees including cleaning staff etc). Glassdoor says software engineer salaries range from 200-280k a year.

Toxic environments and uncertainty take their toll. I wouldn’t want to have a boss as impulsive as Elron, and at this point I’d feel like Twitter wouldn’t look great on a resume. The tech jobs market isn’t easy lately, though, after the pandemic/zero interest loan period ended and mass layoffs came into fashion (partly due to Elron’s example).

This paean to Kim Jong UnApartheid Edgelord is something anybody working in North Koreaat Xhitter should start seriously carefully considering, deciding which side of history they want to stand on.

Apartheid Edgelord’s performance in that interview was absolutely “an unmatched and completely unvarnished perspective and vision for the future”. In that literally nobody else in history looked as much a total fucking jackass as Xhitter’s de-facto CEO in such a short amount of time. Between his constantly turning to the audience, clearly seeking approval of random strangers and his constant claims that he doesn’t care about popularity, Apartheid Edgelord is an abject embarrassment.

People got tired of fawning posts about Elon Musk appearing all over social media including random subs on Reddit and Lemmy. The counterpoint was “enough Musk spam” as in “stop spamming every sub with pro-musk propaganda we are sick of seeing this bullshit”.
