When playing game pass, there is a tab in the upper left with eight dots that is used to access the Xbox menu. Problem is, I have an oled and when I play docked it bothers me that it might burn in eventually. Any way to remove this?

I assume this means you have installed Windows on your Deck. Disable the startup services for the Xbox game bar. This is not a Deck related question, btw.

No Windows installed. This is an original OG Deck docked to an OLED TV. Game pass is running via edge. I haven’t tried a different browser but I don’t believe this is a browser specific issue. I could be wrong of course.

So if streaming, then nothing you can do about it except use inspector to remove the element. Guess you could script that for the future? Still…not a Deck issue. This is a Game Pass on Edge issue. I’d maybe search for that.

There are some browser addons that let you manually apply a certain CSS stylesheet to particular websites. With some work (likely in desktop mode) that could be a way to handle this. However, how would you quit a cloud game in that instance?

Supposedly the display in the SD is resistant to burn-in. Of course, I wouldn’t want to put that to the test. But considering that you’d get the same problem with many old school games where a bright HUD is always at the same position I think you can trust Valve on that.

I hear ya. I don’t want to test my luck. My SD is docked to an OLED TV. I wouldn’t be too concerned but the tab is black with bright white dots. An opacity toggle would be helpful in this scenario.
