I hope this isn’t just an every summer thing now.

I certainly hope this isn’t a yearly thing, but if it is:

From a recent transplant from California:

If you have central air, turn on your fan to “always on” during high smoke days.

If you don’t, or that’s not enough, look into building a Corsi Rosenthal box https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corsi–Rosenthal_Box

They’re really good at cleaning up internal air quality.

Thanks for passing on the info! I live in an older house without central air and it was rough this last week.

It will really depend on if wild fires become more common/severe in eastern Canada going forward. I don’t think it will be an every summer thing but it does seem like it’ll be more common in the future, maybe once every few years.

That’s interesting; thanks for the info! I grew up in Western PA, and it’s a newer experience for me still.

For real. I normally want to stay inside all the time, but with the haze, I really wanted to stay inside all the time.

That and it was much worse in other places, and of course wildfires are quite concerning as far as their environmental impact. I’m hoping that’s the last of them for a while, but I expect that it isn’t.
