What will it take for them to understand we don’t want sprints?

For us to stop watching them and buying tickets to go see them at the circuit. As long sprint weekends have higher viewership(in terms of time spent watching formula 1), they have no reason to drop sprints no matter how much we bitch about it.

you’d need to give them a better way to make more money over a race weekend. They can’t add more races, so the only option is to squeeze more money out of the weekends they already have on the calendar.

I feel like sprints make me less excited for the race itself. Almost like eating a snack before going to a restaurant, then I’m less hungry. Unless they fundamentally change the sprint format (reverse grid) I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy it over a normal weekend.

As long as viewers spend more time in front of their TV during a sprint weekend, nothing will change… Doesn’t matter if the main race is diluted, as long as ppl are still watching.

Why is ‘USA’ specified for Austin, but not Miami.

Ah yes, the great nation of Miami.

It’s probably down to who gets to have the American GP.

Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix

Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix

      United States Grand Prix

Austin is the older race, and for a while it was the only American GP.

They do the same for other countries too; Monza has always been the Italian GP, but had we raced at Imola this year, that would’ve been the Emilia Romagna GP.

2020 also showed they’d do something with back-to-back races at the same track; Austria, Great Britain, and Bahrain all had one “definitive” GP each, but the followup race was called something different.

So they’re keeping Austria and Brazil, so that they can say that sprints are exciting and should therefore stay.

I’m surprised. They’re not doing Vegas.

      I’d take Vegas over Miami.

I think considering how difficult it was this year to organize the weekend, there is still a way to go before we get a sprint in vegas
