Bean is a beautiful new Lemmy client for iOS and Android. It's currently in active development and we'll be looking for people to test the app in the coming weeks. We'll first be looking to test the app on iOS but will later roll out to Android. Please fill in this form if you're interested in testing Bean. I’ve been working on a new Lemmy client for iOS and Android and will be looking for testers in the coming weeks. I’ll be starting with iOS and then later rolling out to Android.

Features (so far) include:

  • Compact and card views
  • Multi-account support
  • Gestures
  • Nested/Threaded comments
  • Themes

Let me know some of your favourite features of other Lemmy / Reddit apps that you liked that I may not have thought of!

    I’ve just filled in the Google form. Can’t wait to get it in test flight! I’m currently testing Memmy, Mlem and WefWef too.

    I’m guessing from your username that you’re uk based? If so, me too!

        They all seem pretty similar but there’s some features in Memmy that are really standing out for me. I’m sure these will probably come to the others soon, but I really like that I can have the compact view and set the thumbnails on the right. I don’t know why I prefer it that way! And currently, Memmy is the only one that greys out read posts and can do so by just viewing the pic on image posts. Memmy somehow seems the most stable for me. I’m not sure if the issues loading posts/comments etc is an app issue or a Lemmy server side issue though.

      Brilliant, thank you! The Android version will be my focus once iOS is feature complete. There are a couple of iOS only components I’m using currently that will need Android counterparts.

        Also on Android and willing to test. I’m using the wefwef web app now. Honestly haven’t even used Lemmy on PC yet, so I don’t know if this exists, but I see no way to edit account settings after set up. Would love that. I also personally don’t like the “Apple” feel of wefwef because I find it confusing since I’ve only ever used Android. Lots of customization is what I enjoy.

        Editing to add that I’ve used and really enjoyed RIF for years. Never tried anything else again once I found it.

          Yeah I totally get that you want it to feel native to the platform which is why I’m focussing on them individually. I happen to use iOS which is why I went with that first.
