I’m guessing this is the place to post this? Even though my reddit app is still working due to the creator trying to keep it up out of pocket, I’ve decided to delete reddit for good. I wasn’t originally planning on joining lemmy but I have no real social media anymore so I figured I’d give it a shot. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting started here?
1.) This post may help you but it hasn’t been updated for ages (14 days): https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/24569
2.) For lemmy apps check out this post: https://lemmy.world/post/465785
3.) Image uploading doesn’t work most of the time, we need to wait till admins find a permament fix
4.) This site is good for finding subs you’re interested in but sometimes it’s not updated for 1-2 days: https://lemmyverse.net/communities?query=artificial+intelligence
Just join any instance and browse All from any app or desktop, not much to it. All helps you find nice communities to subscribe to. Once you’ve got a pretty good collection of communities, you can start browsing the subscribed section.
Best apps for Android are Jerboa, Connect and Liftoff. Ljdawson is working on a new app called Sync for Lemmy and i can safely say that once that comes out, it’ll be the best one out there.
Boost for Lemmy will also come out eventually! It was my favourite app for Reddit, so I’ll definitely give it a try
Ah, thanks! Seems it was a lot simpler than it seemed at first. I’m using thunder rn, I’ll be following sync and boost for lemmy and possibly switch over to one of those.

No pressure, lol
Hahaha. I mean the current ones are great, but they still have some UX issues. Laurence has an amazing understanding of UX and Sync felt very very intuitive.
I do understand that some people like other apps more. It’ll be some anarchy before there are clear winners, just like duplicate communities.
