    IIRC /r/hackernews used to have the bot add a comment with the HN link. (It was a separate comment due to Reddit limitations that do not apply here)

    Given that Lemmy allows a post to have both a link and a description, maybe for sources like HN (where discussion takes place on a separate link) the source link should be in the description here?

      Just took a look and the problem is simple - I’m not passing the body string to the api call… I swear, I know how to program!

      Agreed, that was the intent - haven’t had time to debug why it’s not doing that. The bot should be providing a link to the source when available.
