What do you even tell your kids these days? “Work hard and you might have enough money to retire when you’re in your early nineties, or I guess you could drop out of school and have enough money from youtubing to put a glass dome over your private island to protect from the inevitable firestorms of the coming ecopocalypse.”

So many kids want to become influencers nowadays. Boomers be like ‘uuuh that’s not a real jerb’ but who can blame the kids? It’s todays equivalent of wanting to become an actor or rock star or whatever.

I tell my daughter to have a conventional education and job as a backup plan. And I’ll make sure to show her all the harassment and creepy shit public internet people have to deal with. Just so she knows what she is getting into.

This reminds me of what happened to YouTuber Kallmekris. Perhaps show your daughter this video Kris made about her experience with stalkers and peeping toms and major mental health struggles despite outwardly being a happy and popular YouTuber.

That’s what I plan to do. There are lots of videos by youtubers who experienced the same or similar things.

No. There’s an adult/s that use their kid to make millions of dollars.
