    lemmy.world has simply gotten too crowded

    switching to a smaller instance really solves a lot of these issues

      If Lemmy had a feature to move my account to a different instance similar to what Mastodon has, that would’ve solved it for me, unfortunately I already have everything set up the way I like it here so starting another account and resubscribing just feels very… eh…

      Yep, keeping my Lemmy.world account but moved to a smaller instance today solved all the issues I was having. Ruud is doing an amazing job but it’s grown insanely fast.

        Yeah I don’t blame them a bit, there’s no way to prepare for such an increase of users.

    Wasn’t just me that had that thought then 😂

    Hopefully the devs for lemmy can figure out horizontal scaling soon and we’ll see the other side of these teething problems

    This will be annoying for a little while, but it’s also exciting because it means people are here and using Lemmy.

    Mastodon also suffered for a while, but I rarely experience serious trouble anymore.

    This kind of pressure is necessary to motivate people to improve the system. Nobody wants to work hard on fixing something nobody’s using.
