From the article… “It is clear that Lily’s mother, who self-administered the drugs to induce a late term abortion, is filled with remorse and is relying on mental health services. The real fault in this tragedy lies strongly with abortion providers who pushed for dangerous home abortions, and are now using this case to push for abortion up to birth.”
"…are now using this case to push for abortion up to birth.”

The linked source could be properly called a Catholic Church house organ.
I found these less biased takes:

https://time.com/6286943/abortion-uk-law-jailed-woman/
Both point out that pro-choice groups are calling for “full decriminalisation”. Reading the analysis in Time magazine, I don’t think that calling it “abortion up to birth” is a baseless exaggeration.
Before everyone freaks out, even in very blue states and Canada (the latter having no legal limit on abortions), the guideline is that abortion should be made available until viability (ie 24 weeks of pregnancy).
Moreover, abortions passed the first trimester are relatively uncommon (9% of abortions as per the CDC). The most common causes of late-term abortions are medical reasons, teenage pregnancies (due to the lack of regular periods), being a domestic violence victim, being a sexual assault victim, and lack of abortion access.
What this lady did would be illegal in every country and every state. This person needs significant medical care and is clearly mentally ill.
Well good for her.
