  • Why did you not like full stack work, I used to work in full stack roles years ago but that was before all the front end framework boom. Recently I’ve mostly been working as a backend engineer and now that I got laid off I’m looking for new roles but I find most roles are either full stack or expect you to have some knowledge of front end work like react or typescript etc. I’m debating if I should try to go for these roles just to have the experience on my resume and make it more future proof or stick to backend

Google, xerox, velcro, escalator are all trademark names as well, but people use them in a general sense. Sometimes trademark names become so popular that they get used in a general way, I don’t know what’s confusing you, this is a fairly common phenomenon

  • I usually have lots of tabs open for different topics of interest that I split into separate windows. I also unload all these windows other than the active window that I’m on, but I find Firefox still eats a lot of RAM and at times becomes slow. I use a session manager extension to save windows that I want for future reference. Still I wish there was a better way, so that Firefox doesn’t consume most of my ram. Are there any Firefox forks that are memory efficient. I don’t want to switch to a chromium based browser if possible.

Someday your kids will leave your home and have to navigate the world alone, would you rather teach them important life skills in a safe environment where they feel comfortable enough to reach out to you if problems arise or would you rather keep the sheltered and afraid of you so they do these things in hiding and then don’t tell you when something goes out of hand

  • There are aeronautical engineers who think the world is flat. Human beings aren’t rational creatures, so it’s not surprising that there are scientists that are religious, but acting like it’s some bad apples who give religion a bad name is also not correct. Might I remind you the vatican itself has helped hide multiple crimes committed by the clergy over the years, everything from shielding child raping priests by moving them around to burying the bones of the native American children that were kidnapped from their families and brutalized in church grounds. Point me to any country on the map that’s a theocracy and I’ll show you how they brutalize their population. I’m not against religion, but religion shouldn’t be allowed to interfere in other people’s lives, should not have any say in how a goverment runs and how laws get passed and should be forced to pay taxes like any other business. Religious people with power over others are a danger to society.

  • Split column staggered is how keyboards designed for human hands should be, I don’t understand how most manufacturers are still pushing a keyboard designed for mechanical typewriters, that needed the row stagger for the mechanical linkages under every key. I’m I’m in between jobs right now but I’ll buy a split keyboard as my next keyboard soon
