I looked into this last year when my TV broke.
I didn’t care a great deal about picture quality so you may want to look into that part, but I ended up buying a (I think 4k?) Sony Bravia. It’s a “Google tv” but it allows you to set it up as a regular TV instead and never connect it to the internet.
The HDMI CEC has bug and it doesn’t always work, but it’s not reason enough for me to connect it to the internet to update it. Otherwise it works fine.
@hushable I feel you. My workplace has been the same. The latest requirement is that instead of 2 week sprints (which more or less amount to having most of a week of QA and potential last minute fixes) to “sprints of a couple of days because we’re an AI-first company now”
Cool, but 1) before the mandate to use AI people were already under pressure to use it and there have been no productivity gains, so this seems optimistic, 2) are we outsourcing QA to the hallucination machine?
@bizzle oh man! Just looking at the pictures is bringing back the smell, the sound the locks make, the feeling of pulling to open the door, the slight vibration when you accelerate. Love this! Have fun with this project!
