Ontario continually electing the Fords has been one of my life’s great mysteries. It’s like watching a toddler repeatedly touch a hot stove except the burns are privatization, gutted healthcare, and populism that somehow still charms the province.

Internet should be a public utility, not having access to affordable,reliable internet is one of the drivers of inequality and should not be left to corporations acting on the profit motive.

We do a pedestrian mall in our downtown district from June to September. I absolutely love it and it has been a huge driver of local business. I would love to see some of our streets become pedestrian only but that would also mean my town acknowledging that pedestrians deserve a path at all in the winter.

I mean, maybe someone could abuse it but I would rather that then deny someone the right to own their identity.

Tangential for sure, but does anyone think the rise is misanthropy is linked to the documented increase in loneliness and alienation? It’s purely conjectural but it stands to reason that a feeling of alienation coupled with the distance preventing us from humanizing others might be corollary.

I mean you read it right there though, they’ve already dealt with it, there’s six. Sort of makes it seem like this legislation is about a political statement rather than trying to address a real problem, no?
