  • I live somewhere where I have access to dozens of restaurants within a 5 minute drive and I can order ahead to avoid waiting. Cooking really is not an activity I enjoy so I have no interest in practicing unless I have to. That is not to say I never have food at home. I regularly make healthy super smoothies, sandwiches loaded with greens, prepared salads, and whole grain cereals. I wouldn’t consider that cooking though.

I’m not looking to invalidate the experience of anyone who is good at or enjoys cooking. Just sharing my opinion that this is one area that is very commonly recommended for saving money that I personally don’t find worth my time.

  • And is unlikely to be achieved by 42 f16s. Don’t get me wrong, this is fantastic news, but it would take many many more f16s and/or more sophisticated jets and more air defenses to establish air superiority.

I haven’t seen much discussion about it, but I think F15s for Ukraine would be incredibly helpful. F15s have a very powerful radar with excellent standoff and air-to-ground capabilities. I think they would go a loooong way to keeping Russian jets behind their air defenses, and slowly picking off those air defenses.

  • I don’t expect you to give a shit about my feelings. Was just hoping maybe you or someone reading this might come around to the idea that realistically, there are only two options outcomes, and we should avoid the fascistic one at all costs.

For the record, my feelings are that I’d really like to see younger people in office too, but I’m not gonna shoot myself (and the country) in the foot over it.

  • Um… Inflation Reduction Act?

I just think it’s tremendously stupid to attack the Democratic party from the left and then cast a vote (or fail to vote altogether) that makes it more likely to end up with a Republican government that is even further right. Seriously. It’s fucking braindead. Your options are mildly left, or far right. Far left ain’t on the table. So pick the mildly left. Then in the next PRIMARY, vote far left (or young, whatever it is you want).

  • The IRA does have provisions for home electrical upgrades to accommodate electrification projects. You don’t really need a fancy fast charger at home though since you can just slow charge overnight. Better for the battery that way.

As far as apartments go, I don’t think landlords need any government handouts… Maybe there should be legislation to require X many chargers by X date for apartment complexes over X number of residents.
