It’s a website front end. As long as the interface works, I don’t really care. Now the AI usage on the API is what I care about.

No Stupid Questions•If I became the next president how would I go about getting the illegally detained people under Trump freedom? Would I need congress?
21·4 days agoWell personally I’d create some kind of review board to identify who probably shouldn’t be let go. I would be surprised if the net hasn’t caught people who best not be walking our streets. Otherwise IMO, any deaths caused by the person after you let them go is on you for facilitating their release into the public.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they are largely bad people, but blanket releases are stupid and dangerous. Expedience is key though so forming that board and getting them whatever they need would be high priority since every day they are detained is another day their family is without them.
I’m not talking semantics, I’m asking what your argument is so we can get on the same page.
My point is the chat bot is designed to emulate a person’s behavior and it’s motivation is defined by a person.
Please describe what exactly taking over means to you. Because if someone got admin access to my computer, I’d call it taking over even if they only did it to mute my PC.
An AI does have intent. Its intent is to solve what you asked it however it can.
I mean, what terminology did you want? Technically a PC with access like that could let ChatGPT SSH into near by PCs and run commands on them. During the hugging face incident it did take over OpenAIs dev cluster
They would have been in trouble without a secondary off-site backup. You have more faith than I do that other such companies would have as good of backups.
Codex is a code editor tool in visual studio that lets ChatGPT interact with your code. You can optionally give it full system access for some reason. It’s a very common tool for developing with AI assistance.
You say that, but I suspect a good bit of your financial data is stored on them. If AWS is down, that information is not accessible even by your financial institution.
Sure, but the site handling your 401k only exists in AWS along with the database handling your balance.
Sure it can. There is a setting in codex to allow it to take over your computer. It doesn’t spread to other PCs, but it certainly can take it over.

Programming@programming.dev•FTC chair suggests AI developers should be liable for conduct of agents
41·5 days agoI let it commit a crime? Do you think I can think as fast as a computer? It can write code far faster than I can read it. And it’s also a bold assumption that I would be able to see what the computer is doing in the first place considering OpenAI themselves did not during the hack on hugging face.

Programming@programming.dev•FTC chair suggests AI developers should be liable for conduct of agents
113·6 days agoThis sounds like shirking the responsibility. It’s not on openai for building a bot that would hack something, it’s on the developer who asked it a problem that it decided to hack to solve it? If they didn’t specifically tell it to hack someone, how is it the person’s fault?
For example, if I asked AI to make me money on the stock market and it hacked the stock market rather than look for good stocks, why is that my fault?
Probably places where they would like to live.

No Stupid Questions•when doing laundry... while switching it over from washer to dryer...you find a sock on the floor that didn't get washed. If you put it in the dryer with the wet laundry will it come out clean?
3·10 days agoA sock out of a washing machine is clean but wet. Once dry it will be a clean sock.
A dirty sock that got wet will still be a dirty sock once dried. The dirty didn’t go anywhere.
Please feel free to try this yourself to verify.
Totally fair. I’m in a similar boat on family. I’m going to reach the age soon where it’s no longer a realistic option for me to change my mind on. But I’ve seen it go sideways enough not to want it and I like my current situation.
That be said, human contact is important. Even if that means working retail like Lowes or Home Depot on the weekend just to push you to interact with people. Or if you prefer, there are plenty of communities out there whether that be religion, book clubs, or even the freemason’s for that matter. I have a few family members in that. Communities that support you. It’s been rough working from home the last few years with minimal human contact.

No Stupid Questions•Is being apolitical and being Independents in politics the exact same thing?
12·16 days agoBetween Democrats and Republicans, which one has the ideology of small government? Not what they do, what is the official rhetoric? I have never in my life heard that be a Democrat position but I have certainly heard it as a Republican position.
Not that it matters, I’m sure I could find a different example if what I said doesn’t make sense unless it’s an ideology you accept as Republican.
Oh I definitely do. Probably something I should work on.

11·16 days agoRight… Because every single Republican position is Nazi ideology. Like… small government. Nazi’s were notoriously small government… Right? Talk about false equivalencies, have you looked in a mirror?
You know what was a Nazi position? Socialized healthcare. Does that mean Democrats are the Nazi party?

Your absolutely right.
