3·5 days agoi don’t even need caffeine to write code (of varying quality) at high speeds.
Your use of “everyone” is a nice example of xkcd 2501

Linux•Lepton from Valve to run Android games on Linux is now open sourceEnglish
3·15 days agoThe name is taken from a group of elementary particles.
This is part of Google’s Material 3 Expressive (M3E for short). A lot of apps have taken the reasonable approach of using the the Android design (M3E) to fit into the system (Also Android happens to make your life easier if you use M3E). This design language sucks in some parts. I personally don’t have an issue with the wavy progress bars, but i agree they should’ve added the option to turn it off.
If you don’t mind all animations being disabled you can get rid of the wiggling by turning on reduced motion.
Edit: It’s called Remove Animations and is located in the Accesibility settings under the Motion mmenu. It also seems to only disable the movement in the media notification for my music player (Auxio), likely a bug, will report to upstream.

Ask Lemmy•Shuffle your liked songs right now, what are the first 5 to play?
1·16 days agoNot my liked songs (no such thing in my music app), instead pressed shuffle on my playlist that i mostly listen to (basically my liked songs). Would’ve pressed shuffle on my entire library, but my app can’t handle that so this’ll have to do.
AZALI - ALTERED OBSIDIAN
Rachie - Idol - English Cover
Heaven Pierce Her - No Devil Lived On
Kanaria - ENVY BABY x KING

There are no lockdown mode restrictions on my system. Kernel is not signed, but i switched to UKIs a couple months ago (hibernation worked fine with these).
It is worth noting that the failure is hibernating, not resuming. Normally hibernate takes ~1 minute with fans spinning at max speed, but it recently started not finishing and instead being stuck on a black screen for more than 30 minutes without the fans running until i run out of patience (i hibernate before i go to sleep or head out) and force power off the system (power button 10 second press on my system).
it worked fine before, so why break now?
5gb ram usage of 64gb total & 0gb used on a 128gb swap partition is quite unlikely to run out of swap space during hibernate
My secure boot with hibernate works perfectly fine, or rather it did work fine before hibernate started freezing my system, secure boot or not.

Programming@programming.dev•What is your preferred import style
2·20 days agoYou cqn’t really control the layout as that would prevent the JVM from reshaping your classes (which is a fundamental requirement for things like Dalvik (android jvm))

Not really, a lot of android phones ship with either a custom keyboard or the (horrible) AOSP one. Pixels have been the only devices i’ve used that use Gboard per default.
Already very much capable of doing that, just illegal in most (big) countries.

No. As a matter of fact there are several studies proving a decrease in logical abilities and critical thinking. From my own experience these people are also often painfully incorrect with absolute confidence what they’re saying is actually correct.
