That is how it always goes.

Everyone kind of just ignores that runaway inflation is happening anyway and votes Democrat and Republican again.

Inflation. Price gouging. Under capitalism its a distinction without a difference.

Anti-price gouging laws can be passed without an entire overhaul of the system.

I’m a socialist, but I’m realistic about it and I know what I want is probably not going to happen in my lifetime.

        What can I say?

Stop voting for capitalists, man. You have to step off the Democratic and Republican train if you want meaningful change.

Except we can’t do that right now when we’re literally fighting fascism.

I used to tell everyone to vote third party, then Trump arrived… Ever since I’ve been voting for the dem clowns to keep the dangerous, insane people away from power as best I can.

I consider America broken right now. We can’t stop to fight for ideals until we fix it. Fixing it means de-radicalising the republican party by making them lose elections and re-structure away from fascism.

In the USA third parties make no sense until we change voting from FPTP to for example RCV.

I similarly got fooled in 2016, and while my state voted for Hillary, I still regret voting 3rd party after realizing that with FPTP the only purpose of a 3rd party is to steal votes from your 2nd choice.

            we’re literally fighting fascism.

Have you seen how pro Palestinian protestors are treated?

Have you crossed the thin blue line?

Fascism IS here. We are only voting for our preferred flavor.

You have 40 years of history to definitively prove to yourself that voting Democrats fixes nothing.

            But sure.

Go for it. Maybe in another 40 years the country will be so terribly broken that none of them wwill want it anymore.

Voting Democratic Party might not fix anything, but it won’t make things worse.

Unlike you who supports Trump and fascism. Don’t worry, you won’t be saved. Realize that.

Incorrect. The next Democratic administration could easily be worse than the current.

It’s not. It would only help if Greens somehow get enough to qualify for public election funding, which isn’t going to happen.

The last 40 years have also taught us that, no matter how bad things get, 99% of voters will pull the lever for Democrats or Republicans.

I’m shouting into the void and I know it, but people deserve the criticism since they insist I’m throwing my vote away while theirs signifies knowing and active approval of fascism.

The only thing you can do to help yourself now is put every cent you have in the stock market, because the fascists will do their very best to make sure that survives, being that their wealth is wrapped up in it too.

The person who came closest to being elected as a third party candidate was a racist former VP running on a platform of supporting slavery no matter what SCOTUS said.

That one was John C. Breckinridge, he got 72 out of 303 EC votes. The winner that year was Lincoln, with 180 EC votes. I am stretching the truth because he wasn’t really third party, it was a split party.

Considering that Lincoln was the first Republican president and at that time the Republican party was just a few years old, it could be argued that a third party actually won the 1860 election.

The Republican party sure has changed a lot since then.

And the person you want me to vote for has sat on his ass for the last four years watching the cost of groceries double and triple, gasoling costs pass the $3 mark permanently even in the poorest parts of the country, housing costs nearly doubled, and written blank checks for other countries’ wars, even if said country was openly committing genocide.

Oh, and what did he do when Roe was repealed? He used it to fundraise. That’s it.

Your candidate is a fascist, and does not care about your wage slavery.

Yeah, the alternative is worse on every point. I thought you were going to reply talking about advocating for third parties down ballot which can actually change something but nope, back to the amnesiac take of telling people to give the presidential seat to the 30%+ who vote straight republican

You just sat through a Democratic presidency, with congressional control, that impoverished you in every way, including the right to your own bodily autonomy.

Instead of making sure you eat, they wrote blank checks for other countries’ wars.

It’s honestly impressive how little you care about your own welfare. You’re right. It’s a moral imperative that I vote for your fascist and not the other guys’ fascist.
