I once heard a case with a black gentlemen got stopped by police and they took him away, despite the fact that he said his young child was in the car on a hot day. Do you think mafia men would’ve allowed that kid to stay in that hot car during a shakedown where they wanted to take their victim away?

A lot of mafia guys treat kids relatively well as far as I’m aware.

And if you snitch on behalf of the mob, they do favors for you in return. Snitching for the cops gives you nothing and you risk being exposed every time the cop opens his mouth.
