Just like this photo, once in a while you have to tape things until the glue sets in, and tell those nosy anxious people to STFU.

Fo sho. Temporary things can and should be low cost/quick. Getting a hammer drill and tap-cons that aren’t required for the end product may just serve to degrade the existing structure in the long run.

Also- we just had our steep ass roof reshingled and were getting water in the attic along the chimney after installation. The 30 year warranty got us two dudes back on the roof with three tubes of caulk… 30 year caulk?

We called a manager back over to inspect the work. He gave us a quote on siding, because he believed that was the issue. There is no siding between the roof and chimney… Can’t quite afford the lawyer without a guarantee we would win and get our money back.

I try not to think about it. We’ll live in this house until we die because dishing it off to some other unsuspecting fool would haunt me afterwards. That - and the black mold will probably speed things up a bit.

Hard to say what is what these days.

Enough darkness. Hope y’all enjoy some quality time with loved ones (or whatever works for you) this weekend!

I think it’s funny when people are worried about glue. Sir, this isn’t an Elmer’s glue stick.
