==please incorporate the word rule in your post titles==
Here are the things that get you banned:
-saying anything remotely iffy with a lemmygrad or hexbear account
-tankie behaviour
-nazi behaviour
-authoritarian behaviour
-genocide denial

Things that get your post/comment removed:
-AI generated content

-posts that are so off topic that they don’t fit on 196 at all

-corpoposting

Ban length varies, and is mostly based off of whether or not I think you will change your behavior. I have baned certain people for upwards of 2000 days.

No AI generated content, so no Midjourney, ChatGPT, etc.

There are several reasons for this:

      1. It’s low effort content that can drown out things people have put actual effort in (but that’s not really a problem here since 99% is low effort shitposts anyway)
      2. Its training material is gathered without permission of the authors.
      3. It’s wasteful in terms of energy and thus emissions

Thanks. I couldn’t wrap my head around it.

I don’t really agree, with the viewpoint, but I’ll continue to try and be mindful of the stuff I post.

Oh man that post is a hot mess. Comparing energy used by a human to AI? Guess we don’t need all those artists, better round em up and eliminate them because of some reddit math.

that’s the argument OOP was making. I didn’t make it, I never said we should remove human artists. I think human creativity/creation will and should become even more valued in the coming years. You’re putting words in my mouth, that’s not very nice.

I never said we dONT nEED aLL tHeSE aRTiSTS, I gave you a pretty convincing refutal to the argument that AI uses more energy than human artists. Not anything else.
