    It’s worse. They completely believe their religions and it’s their god that commands them to kill the sinners. It’s a rationalization feedback loop: They are just doing what they are told to be proper religious folk.

      That’s not a valid excuse. We didn’t accept it when the nazis said they were just following orders, and we won’t accept it now.

            Probably would be easier to say when did we not?

            The most notable example that comes to mind is the guy who perpetrated the My Lai massacre getting house arrest, that only happened because of leaked documents going public.

            But it’s not the only one. Our soldiers love to take selfies with human trophies, and nothing meaningful happens when they do.

      That’s not what the religion they claim to follow teaches, so no, they don’t believe in their religion. They believe in the insane ramblings of politically motivated scammers.
