      Yea, this article sucks because it reinforces people being afraid to be honest - even if it would help the people they abused.

        That brain worm does not deserve to be president, nor to hold any other position of responsibility.

          I ain’t saying shit about deserving forgiveness. But SA survivors deserve whatever the fuck they need to heal or move forward… if their assaulter showing genuine contrition helps with that then I’m all for letting assaulters show contrition without punishing them for it.

          They still absolutely deserve punishment for the SA though.

      Huh? I mean, sure… kinda. But there is a major difference between “I’m sorry that happened” or “I’m sorry we did all we could” and “I’m sorry I shot your son, ate his face, and then mutilated the corpse.”

      Context matters, and putting “sorry” in a sentence doesn’t magically make the sentence not an admission.
