    Wait if someone accuses me of breaking the law or in breach of regulations, I can just sue them?

      This is the way of those with extreme wealth. Corporations and wealthy people do this.

      Yeah. And for a case you’re likely to win damages from, many lawyers will take the case under a contract where they only get paid (over half your payout) if you win.

      Elon Musk, in contrast, has lost so many legal battles lately, that I’m sure his lawyers demand pay up front, in cash, every morning, before they start work.

      I believe, “sue” isn’t the right word here. Presumably, he’s simply using his right to a fair trial, rather than accept their out-of-court offer.

      If an organisation publicly claimed you were breaking the law and that turned out to be false, then you could sue back for defamation, but otherwise, I don’t think that’s a thing…
