    I disagree with that sentiment. Sport should never be political. In 16 years, countries from the West might get excluded when China takes over as the next world power nation. I bet you wouldn’t like that, would you?

    Besides, sports can be the only necessary link between countries during such times. Additionally, if Russia participated, the broadcasting would have been drastically different and the opinion of the population would be too.

    It does no direct harm inviting the athletes to compete so we should just let them.

      russia is banned because their athletes keep being caught for taking performance enhancing drugs.

      But. Sport has always been political. All this fluff about the beauty of sports is just for show. It’s all about soft power.

      What Takes you to assume, that russia would Broadcast the olympics at all (or uncensored) even when russian athletes would be competing.

      In a ideal world, yes, politics should Not Play any part in Sports, nor in sciences. Hence it is, as we are not living in that world, so we would have to adjust accordingly.
