They said tens of thousands of protesters would be here. They claimed they would “shut down the DNC for Gaza.” Like the Chicago riots during the 1968 Democratic convention, their demonstrations would snarl the city, shake the party and doom the candidacy of “Genocide Joe.”

Then came Kamala Harris — and the protest fizzled.

Organizers anticipated there would be 30,000 to 40,000 protesters on hand for Monday’s kickoff. But only a few thousand showed up; police estimated 3,500

Yup. Protest the people actually doing the thing you hate.

I hate my government, that I can have some small influence over, arming the perpetrators of genocide.

Can’t tell if bitter or gloating.

Or protest the people/institutions supporting the war. Biden only got (very slightly) more balanced after the protests and Uncommitted votes were indicating that his election was at risk. None of them care if people protest Israel without having some demand for change from them. And Israel doesn’t care what happens at its embassies if the US weapons keep flowing, so they’d also be perfectly happy with that result.

No I think the person who fires the gun or drops the bomb is far more culpable than the person who gave them the gun/ammo/bomb.

The person supplying the weapon still bears responsibility and guilt and is culpable. But they are not as culpable. The actual murderer is always the most culpable and the most guilty. Those who aid the murderer are culpable and guilty too, but far less so.

What if the person gives him the gun, tells him how to find his target, watches him kill, and keep killing. And whenever his gun runs out of ammo he helps him reload it. And whenever anyone tries to stop the killer, this person prevents it because they are the biggest and toughest guy around?

Nope. Israel is misappropriating US support.

And the US is still giving it. That argument would work if we actually stopped giving them aid, but we don’t.

How are they misappropriating the use of those 2000lb bombs? I doubt they work well as defense

And we watch them do it and continue the support.

              We know what we’re doing.

Moreso. We have the Intel from sources both in the sky and in space. Our govt is feeding Israel the targeting data. Supplying the weapons. Hell, we’re the only thing keeping the whole country’s economy afloat.

Yeah I can get behind this, it’s incredibly sensible. The Israeli embassy is also considered Israeli territory, so it makes even more sense to protest there.

There were more than 200 protesters at the consulate yesterday.

Ok, because there were WAY more than 200. Your comment makes it sound like there were only 200 and 72 were arrested
