In contrast, the super secret Deadlock has 36k players at this time, with a 64k all-time peak, in the same week that Wukong was released. Something tells me this super secret totally restricted early access might have been a 4D chess marketing move.

Got an invite to the playtest from a friend recently.

I should not have accepted it. This game is going to consume my soul

I’ve been busy travelling but somehow already reached 30+ hours playtime… and still only tried a few heroes. redacted is my fave thus far, I like how redacted is redacted.

They lifted the info embargo! You can talk about it now! I’m having an amazing time with Abrams except when I play teams that know how to parry. Laning can be tricky at first, but his regen is so good you can somewhat ignore the other hero and focus on last hitting.

I like how they say “It’s redactin time” and then redacts all over them.

I just want to provide a contrasting opinion to the other response here. I and a few of my friends have tried it and we just aren’t ready to dedicate way too much time to learning a game that seems to want to be almost as complex as DOTA2. So many characters, map mechanics, and item builds to adapt to the situation (this one in particular) - its just too much. Like, pick two and maybe I’d find it worth my time to start learning, but the complexity of all 3 make the game too daunting.

That’s where I’m at with it. I can’t get into a game knowing I don’t have the energy to get good at playing…

They did the same with Dota 2. If you wanted a key, you could just ask Valve directly and get one (if none of your friends had a spare), it was not an exclusive club house for the cool kids.

I don’t think it’s 4D-marketing chess, it’s more like people who’ve already shown enough interest to ask for an invite are more likely to leave feedback when they find something off with it.
