      This exactly. When the “legal safeguards” only exist as long as they’ll hold up to scrutiny from a corrupt supermajority on a single unelected, unremovable body of 9 people whose authority is absolute, final, and does not require proper justification in any form, then the actual “legal safeguards” are that five people won’t initiate a coup. Which we saw absolutely already happened in 2000.
