These numbers are just insane. The US lost 1/10th of that many soldiers in Vietnam and it fucked up that entire generation.

Good point, this must be the case for Russia too, they can’t possibly live normal lives when they know they risk being drafted to this war. But also their families parents and children must be fucked up by it. So probably multiple generations, and I’m also pretty sure this war will fuck up all of Russia for more than one generation.

Plus ruzzis have one third of the population of the US.

As far as we know they think (or are indoctrinated to think) that suffering and pain and early death are the norm. Makes their Führers life much easier.

It is roughly half the casualties the US had in WW2, with a roughly similar sized population. The war is still going and Russian losses have increased. That is with Russians on average being older. So for younger generations, this is getting pretty close in terms of losses. Also losses are higher, when you are being beaten. Looking at Russian equipment, I can easily see those going up.

Now think about what WW2 did with the US.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties

USA total deaths in WW2 was 419,400, While the number from Ukraine in principle is losses, there is some uncertainty if they are actual deaths.
But at face value, the Russian losses stated by Ukraine are already 50% higher in about half the time, than what USA suffered for the duration of WW2.
The number of wounded for USA was 671,801, for some weird reason the Wiki page doesn’t state the casualty rate? Which AFAIK must be the 2 numbers added which is just above a million. But AFAIK the Ukraine number is NOT casualties, it’s stated as losses, AFAIK meaning dead captured or wounded beyond ability to fight again.

I’m not American, but I think Vietnam was psychologically very different than WW2, because USA lost and was also accused of war crimes. It was considered a shameful war.
While after WW2 USA was undisputed heroes that succeeded in liberating the world from Nazism. (together with allies)

So for Russians the Ukraine war is a lot more like Vietnam than WW2. Even if they don’t accept it yet.
