Uh. So, boomers swinging in the dark to maybe profit from a generation they have no more contact with than their marketing team has with real human beings? What could go wrong?

IO acquired the license voluntarily and had to convince the Bond owners to let them license the IP. So they’re not swinging in the dark. Furthermore, Hitman is basically James Bond with a different coat of paint. I wouldn’t be remotely surprised if all IO did for a tech demo to convince them was reskin Agent 47 and then play through the game as-is.

        Hitman is really good, too.

The always online for live service shit sucks, and I can’t defend that, but you can run your own server on PC and they don’t seem to have taken any action against the project. But once you get past that, it’s right there in the discussion for the best stealth action games on the market. The gunplay is a little clunky, but it feels intentional to push you into using weapons to get back to stealth, and of the contenders in the stealth space, the costume element makes it the most unique.

But I’m really excited to see what they do with Bond.

I have promised myself I wont buy it if it is always online. I got shafted with one of the hitman games not recording my progress because I wasnt online while awaiting a connection in my new house.

It is such bullshit I will learn how to pirate and play it that way.
