minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish1•17 minutes agoSSDs are not suitable for long term storage. Modern consumer grade SSDs are only rated for 1 year of data retention without power. Only SLC flash is suitable for long term storage, but those are very expensive and low capacity.

SSDs are not suitable for long term storage. Modern consumer grade SSDs are only rated for 1 year of data retention without power. Only SLC flash is suitable for long term storage, but those are very expensive and low capacity.
