minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish3•1 month agoSSDs are not suitable for long term storage. Modern consumer grade SSDs are only rated for 1 year of data retention without power. Only SLC flash is suitable for long term storage, but those are very expensive and low capacity.
Something like a 5 ¼" archival SSD would be really cool. Just a solid storage chonk, that you can forget in a drawer.
