it takes about 42 gallons of crude oil to make 19 gallons of gasoline, and each gallon of gasoline has about 28,746.746 calories. so if i’m doing my math right (it’s been a full day), 400 calories of crude oil would only be about 117 grams. seems a bit foolish to start a whole military operation over 117 grams, but i also wouldn’t put it past them.
