Surrendering Marx because shitheads use him as an aesthetic is like surrendering the American flag because shitheads use it as an aesthetic. All you do in doing so is lending power to your enemies for no good goddamn reason. Even less justified, really, since Marx has pretty clearly stated inclinations, while the US flag is far more abstract.

Especially silly when half of the tankies on here haven’t read enough Marx to fill a thimble, and regularly and blatantly contradict him.

If this were a sociology, philosophy, history, or similar academic community then sure…

but not making Marxist memes is the easiest fucking thing you can possibly do. Are you planning to tell me I’m being unfair to chastise you because you accidentally tripped, opened your laptop, and photo-edited this meme so it’s not really your fault for picking the subject matter?

No. I’m telling you that surrendering symbols to the opposition just means that the opposition then benefits from that symbol. Fuck that. It’s both cowardly and stupid. I’m not going to puss out of reposting memes with Marx just because some ML fucks think workers’ democracy is for squares.

          “surrendering” fuck off

There are appropriate (and inappropriate) contexts for every subject.

Don’t rightly know what else you’d call giving up a prominent and powerful symbol to the opposition without so much as a fight.

Yep, and that’s why I feel fine posting a Marx meme in 196, where tankies aren’t welcome.
