I don’t get the “bumble exploded” joke. But glad to hear they are still cheering for Luigi.
Bumble is a dating app like Tinder but the twist is that only women can start the conversation (in a hetro match on the app).
The joke is that Luigi is so popular and hot that him arriving in New York triggered a sudden rush by women to (re)download the app that Bumble’s servers were overloaded and therefore exploded.
Thank you for explaining the joke. The only issue I have with it, I don’t think Luigi has his phone right now.
No worries 😊 sometimes you have to dissect a joke to understand and it can be an interesting learning experience for how comedy, a core part of human communication and interaction works. Very useful to if one struggles with understanding human social interactions, like I do, so I have to learn it.
He might not have a phone but he also could as they have found contraband smartphones in prisons before. Either way he’s not going to be able to meet with anyone from Bumble but that’s a stretch of reality that also forms part of the punchline.
