Seriously! The easiest way to defeat them is to remove the value they seek. And what better way to remove the value of a good in Capitalism than to start giving it away for free?

Just do it. People are so numbed to the idea of their data being sold that you’re probably not going to get much money out of it.
It would also be kind of nice for everyone to see what these people had on them and maybe how they got it.
