Communities made around hating a specific thing are always awful.

Except FuckCars because that’s really just pro-urbanism.

      Except FuckCars

Unfortunately, the community is still populated and run by some Grade A types.

Like, the sentiment is good, but you still end up with people who have no communication skills piling in.

Me: cars are pretty mandatory in cities like L.A. and rural areas

FuckCars: you’re literally worse than Hitler

Has it? Back when I was on Reddit (before the API debacle) it was one of my absolute favourites.

They have no interest in appearing less aggressive. Getting to be aggressive is like the highlight of their day.

The name isn’t “no cars” or “never cars”. There are some rare use cases for personal automobiles. But the ways cars operate in our society today? Fuck 'em.

US society (IIRC you’re a US citizen) definitely is car centric. The issue people have with FuckCars is how it puts the responsibility of the situation to the cars (and their owners) rather than the policies leading to that situation.

[email protected] could maybe a less “fuck them” alternative

But [email protected] isn’t just about public transport. It’s also about cycling. And walking. And building cities such that walking or cycling are actually viable, not just because there are good bike paths/footpaths, but also because paths are well-shaded, roads are narrow and easy to cross, and the distances you have to travel are lower because density is higher and localities are mixed-use with local businesses. It’s about all the ways that motonormativity is shit.

But they’re incredibly aggressive, so the current name fits them better
