Plus it’s the mental burden of having many things to take care of. With two, it’s the same amount of things even though each thing is bigger, but it’s easier to take care of and split.
But you consume twice as much food, have twice as much laundry, and so on.

Absolutely this. I suck at cooking but my wife is great at it. She hates doing dishes but I really don’t mind.
