I mean, the current guess is 10% of the population. Mostly speaking a lot of it is relatable because it is a common experience, they become signs of something more when it impacts your life and wellbeing on a regular basis.

Do you feel like you’re often anxious about missing appointments because if you don’t stress about it you will absolutely forget?

I suspect the percentage of people with ADHD is much higher on Lemmy than the general population.

What makes you think easily distracted people would be hanging out here, on the distraction machine? /s

I was more thinking of the fact that people here are mostly people who left reddit to try this new thing called Lemmy.

And I know a very specific type of person that is constantly trying new things.

Not exactly anxious or stressed, but I can’t make myself do anything - I can’t read a book or play a game or anything - because in the back of my mind I do have the thought that I’ll get too invested in it and suddenly realise it’s 5 minutes before a thing that I should have left half an hour ago for

Right, just because you have symptoms doesn’t mean it’s a disorder for you. Many people learn to adjust to manage their lives once they are older.

I probably would have benefited from meds as a kid or when trying to go to college. Now, I wouldn’t change how things turned out at all, and I don’t feel like treatment would help.
