    WTF…

So what’s the point of detecting the weapon after it’s out and being used?

    Money well spent!

    idiots…

You got to understand: the gun lobby is strong, especially at the local level. The amount of money to elect someone locally is pennies compared to nationally.

Not only that but often these “solutions” like metal detectors have lobbies of their own.

Gun control doesn’t make the line go up.

The only way we’ll get gun control is if Luigi’s start making a more common occurrence.

I’m not sure it’s logistically feasible even if they really wanted to at this point.

This video is less than 10 mins, and uses pretty rounded off numbers, but it’s very illustrative of the magnitude of guns in america. Even going beyond any other problems that enforcement would have like non compliant sheriffs and organized resistance.

On the bright side, if an executive order can undo an amendment, the next time a democratic president gets in this should be fun

You know, assuming we have elections

Dems never have the balls to wield their power effectively. They could have a supermajority in both houses and still wouldn’t even be able to create an honorary holiday like notional french fry day or some other meaningless gesture.

Plus it has Ai! Anything that has AI must be good. For lunch I’m getting a ham sandwich with extra AI.

Well but you need to understand, it had “AI” in the name, and everything is made awesome with AI, so they had to go with it…

That’ll be great fun when it starts spitting out false positives and the coppers get called out several times a day because someone was carrying their pencil case in their hands rather than in their bags. The only reasonable solution there will obviously be to ban pencil cases.

Maybe! Given how the incumbent party views education I can see that. At the same time, for-profit schools is a thing too and we can’t lose that profit! Think of all the poor profiteers. :(((

If people didn’t want their children to be brutally murdered in gun violence they should just breed bullet resistant children. The system is working fine, this is clearly a problem with parents.

You have no idea how many times I, and my son have wished for him to be bulletproof. Id laugh but it’s true.

Put the police station in the school. Kids should get used to living in the bipartisan police state anyways.
