Yeah skiing Jay is as close to leaving the US as you can get without passport. Unfortunately your phone also tries to leave the US and charge roaming in Canada if you’re not careful.
I think Canada may only let us states join if they agree they don’t get to vote in elections. Americans have proved they can’t be trusted with that power.

In fact, there’re mountains on either end of the bloody place. People ski on them too!

And instead of Jay Peak, there’s also Owl’s Head in that region (Eastern Townships).
Jay seems to have a high proportion of Canadian visitors because it’s just south of the border and takes Canadian cash at par with USD.
