Summary
Trump’s new presidency has unleashed a series of aggressive orders that have reshaped the federal government.
Rapid purges have targeted senior officials and civil servants, aiming to remove anyone deemed insufficiently loyal to his agenda.
Key measures include canceling diversity programs, dismantling independent inspectors, and attempting to seize control over trillions in government spending from Congress.
Despite some pushback and legal challenges, these moves reflect a broader strategy to concentrate power, potentially undermining democratic checks and balances and reshaping the US government’s structure.
These actions risk significant long-term institutional damage.
No shit, people were shouting this from the rooftops that this was their plan, and we sat on our thumbs and something like 15 million people decided not to vote. This is what you get when you get sanctimonious about choosing between a dem, and these fucking nazi clown fascists. But, how dare the dems not be perfect.
Well, they weren’t given a pony! A pretty, pretty pony! So, the Democrats are just as bad, bOtHsIdEs, and everything deserves to burn. Surely these people that sat out or threw their vote away on a protest vote won’t have to deal with the consequences, just like the rest of us. They are above it all in their ivory tower.
But but but but but tRuMp wEnT oN jOe RoGaIn!!!
…I wonder if they saw that story about Musk manipulation in that, by the way.
I was one of the people pushing the 15 million people idea right after the election, but it turns out some places count really slow and a disproportionate amount of that is in California, where there are a lot of Democrats even in safely Republican districts. It turns out there were only about 3 million people who didn’t vote in 2024 vs 2020. (And since we were still in the middle of a pandemic in 2020, a good chunk of those 3 million people might not have legitimately been around to vote in 2024, which is a decent excuse.)
Biden won in 2020 by 7 million votes. But Harris lost 6 million Biden voters, while Trump somehow gained 3 million. So in the end, Trump won the popular vote by 2 mil. Sounds to me like the key problem was Biden voters getting fed up and crossing sides to see what would happen.
And we’re now in the Finding Out stage.

That’s fair, I know the numbers narrowed after all the votes were counting, but i didn’t know the actual numbers. Dunno that I really find any solace in knowing we almost beat fuck face, and this stupid project 2025 bullshit. Instead we get to find out how bad it really is going to be.
bUt pUnIsHiNg tHe DeMS!!1!
Surely after decades of a certain type of person crossing their arms and stamping their feet every 4 years, the Democratic Party will be Learning Its Lesson ™ and come to this set of people and give them a pretty, pretty pony.
