Donald Trump has said that Americans may feel economic “pain” from his tariffs on key trading partners.
“Will there be some pain? Yes, maybe (and maybe not!)” Trump wrote on Sunday in all capital letters on his Truth social media platform, a day after signing off on tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China.
“But we will Make America Great Again, and it will all be worth the price that must be paid,” he added.
unfortunately the faux news/conservative propaganda machine will never allow those voters to understand the reality of their terrible, terrible decision to elect a con artist as president.
it doesnt matter how bad it gets, it will never be this piece of shit humans fault.
Those voters choose to remain inside their bubble of ignorance and actively avoid any information that might challenge their preconceived notions. Painting those people as victims is just wrong.
its definitely not as black and white as that. many of these viewers do not actually know they have a choice.
Fuck em. I hate to quote pigs, but at some point, ignorance of consequences should not save you from them. If you need to learn the hard way and will bring everyone else down to do so, I hope it’s fucking sharp.

dude are you 12 and completely ignorant of the complex realities of human emotional, knowledge states, and information proxy selection?
most of these people did not logic themselves into being brainwashed, they certainly arent going to logic themselves out of it. many are just passively consuming whatever is on at the local bar or laundromat or radio. your dismissal of millions of people into such a small bucket belies your objectively ignorant point of view.
I mean sure, what you said is true, but you can’t deny that when given a choice they consistently choose comfort over doing the right thing. It’s the same reason people will say “I really should be vegan” and keep eating meat. While that’s the normal human thing to do, I can still call them out for doing the wrong thing because it’s easy. They also had many many opportunities to turn away from the propaganda when it started to become more insane, but they remained because it was comforting and change would be too difficult.
It is wilful ignorance these people are displaying and no amount of excuses will change that.

It isn’t just fox news.
Myself and a few others I know who still use(d) reddit were given 3 day bans (so AFTER the tariffs hit) for just talking about how a “general strike” wouldn’t be as effective as people think and the only way people would even notice were if it were rioting in the streets. Carefully worded so as to NOT be advocating for rioting.
People are finally starting to realize that musk and zuck are manipulating them. But they still don’t understand that reddit and tiktok are as well.
And, to be clear: There are a LOT of bad actors on lemmy too. But outside of the particularly tanky instances, it is more a function of not having any protections against meat puppets.
Trump will tell them to blame Canada and Mexico and China and whip them into a fury and then use that to declare war.
