She deserves to be called Dorothy. She used the initials because she wouldn’t be able to get any writing jobs as a woman with an obvious woman’s name. DS9 actually made some commentary on this with Nana Visitor’s pulp writer character in Far Beyond the Stars. She was an obvious reference to Dorothy.
But that’s like getting upset at someone calling the former President “JFK.”
“He deserves to be called John.”
Most people know her as DC Fontana.
Though I groked the reality of Kira’s alter ego in FBtS, I didn’t realize she was suppose to be a reference to Fontana. Been putting off a compete franchise rewatch for a long while now, guess I need to get into it.
