I’m not sure why you are getting downvoted. The general outline you point out about the trajectory of things (crime in particular) is very true. One thing that runs counter is quality of life and income inequality have not been on good paths.

Of course, we shouldn’t be comparing ourselves to the worst examples we can find, but the best and striving for that. As others have pointed out, there are examples in Europe.
