Employees of the U.S. Department of Education received an email on Tuesday advising them to vacate all department offices by 6 p.m. Staff members were instructed by the department’s Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics to plan to work from home on Wednesday.
The email included little explanation, saying department offices would be closed “for security reasons” and would reopen Thursday.
Remote work is the future. Companies need to grow up.
Normally I would agree. But this is one of those rare instances I say, “Oh shit something is up.” Rather than saying, “How progressive of our government to pilot remote work!”
This isn’t “remote work” this is “don’t come in tomorrow so we can do all kinds of shady shit without so many prying eyes.”
Agreed but it’s doubtful that’s what they’re actually doing.
