Did that as well a couple of years ago. I was prepared to have google as a backup in case I wasn’t satisfied with my results, but after having doublechecked with google a couple of times, I discovered that google wasn’t better in any way for my usage, so I have not since returned.
I don’t want to be too specific, but it mainly censors (or reorders too far down the list for me to be bothered to find) taboo topics, like adult sites, gambling, piracy etc.

In my experience google just gives me mostly links to reddit threads while duckduckgo gives actual websites
Duck duck go doesn’t find the results I know exist.
Can you give an example?

DDG doesn’t have more up to date results unlike Google.
