Sad to even think we might not keep him but I can’t be mad personally. He deserves to be compensated for his talent.

That’s not even remotely on the table. Don’t overreact to a gigantic contract negotiation dragging into the summer. It happens pretty much every single year.

Especially for a locked-in veteran player (and one that’s had health issues before) like Bosa, there’s no burning need to get him onto the practice field immediately. He can sign in late August and it would be fine.

It would be one thing if Bosa was expressing dissatisfaction with negotiations. He hasn’t been.

There are real holdouts, and then there are, “negotiations are going fine, but I’m not risking injury on the practice field until the deal is signed” holdouts.

Gotcha…appreciate the info I don’t really know how these things work. So this is basically clickbait? It worked on me 😂

Not clickbait exactly, it’s just saying the truth: Bosa won’t be at camp until the deal is done.

But the article itself quotes John Lynch about the negotiations. They’re not contentious, they’re progressing. Until and unless that tone changes, there’s nothing to worry about.

The big contracts for Deebo and Kittle took until August in those years as well. And Bosa’s deal is going to tower over those deals. The Niners take their time and get the deals done right. As of right now, nothing to be alarmed by.

I’m with you. I don’t know the process super well, but just the idea of not having him gets me worried. Hopefully this is just typical process.
